Not exactly a fire sale
AMI Asset Management Corp. sold 4,748 shares of Quanta Services, cutting its stake by 2.3% to 199,134 shares. That still leaves Quanta as a pretty meaningful bet: roughly 4.8% of AMI’s portfolio and its 6th-largest holding.
Why you should care
When a fund trims a position this small, it usually reads less like a panic button and more like portfolio housekeeping. In other words: AMI didn’t toss Quanta out the window — it just moved a few pieces around on the chessboard.
For Quanta investors, the bigger takeaway is that institutional ownership is still there, and the holding remains sizeable at about $84.05 million. That kind of base can matter when a stock is trying to keep its footing.
Big picture
This is the investing equivalent of taking a few fries off your plate, not canceling dinner. Helpful context, sure — but not the kind of move that usually changes Quanta’s whole story.
