Wall Street’s still swiping right
AppLovin is getting the kind of analyst attention most companies would frame and hang on the wall. According to the roundup, 23 analysts now cover the stock, with 18 calling it a buy and five saying hold, landing on a consensus "Moderate Buy" and a $669.05 average 1-year price target.
That sounds pretty rosy, especially when the stock was trading around $417.45. In other words, the Street is basically saying, “Nice start, but you’ve got room to run.”
The earnings backdrop is doing a lot of the heavy lifting
The article also leans hard on AppLovin’s latest quarterly results, and yeah, they were spicy:
- EPS came in at $3.24 vs. $2.89 expected
- Revenue hit $1.66 billion, up 66% year over year
- Net margin clocked in at 57.4%
That’s the kind of performance that makes analysts reach for the highlighter and the bigger price target.
But the insider selling is hard to ignore
Here’s where the plot gets a little less glamorous. The piece says insiders sold about 365,244 shares worth roughly $169.6 million over the past 90 days, including a 50,000-share sale by CEO Arash Adam Foroughi and additional selling from the CTO.
Should you panic? Not automatically. Insiders sell for all kinds of reasons. But when the selling is this chunky, investors usually notice — because it can feel a little like the chefs are leaving the kitchen after saying the soufflé is perfect.
Big picture
For now, Wall Street seems willing to give AppLovin the benefit of the doubt: strong growth, huge margins, and a still-bullish analyst crowd. The catch is that the stock already has a lot of good news baked in, so any slip-up could make the air come out fast.
