Calendar check: May 6 is circled
Uber has officially set the date for its first-quarter 2026 results call: Wednesday, May 6 at 5:00 a.m. Pacific, which is a very “let’s get this over with before breakfast” kind of time slot. The company says the webcast and earnings materials will live on its Investor Relations site, with a replay available for at least 90 days.
Why you should care
This is the part of the quarter where investors find out whether Uber is still doing the one thing Wall Street loves most: turning a chaotic app-based empire into something that looks a little more like a disciplined money machine. The usual suspects will be under the microscope — trips, delivery demand, margins, and how much the company is spending to stay ahead.
The robotaxi subplot isn’t going away
Even though this is a simple earnings-date announcement, Uber’s bigger story is still the same: it’s trying to prove it can be both the ride-hailing king and a future autonomous-vehicle platform without setting cash on fire. So when the call finally happens, expect plenty of attention on partnerships, AV strategy, and whether management thinks the next leg of growth comes from humans in cars, robots in cars, or some uncomfortable mix of both.
Big picture
A date announcement isn’t flashy, but it does put the next catalyst on the clock. If Uber can pair solid results with signs that margins are holding together, the stock gets a cleaner story. If not, investors may start treating the app like a very expensive taxi meter that keeps running.
