AI’s new bottleneck: electricity
Everyone’s been obsessing over GPUs, but the real choke point for AI is starting to look a lot more old-school: power. Eos Energy Enterprises says it’s entered a joint development agreement with TURBINE-X to create a private power infrastructure setup built for hyperscale AI demand.
The pitch: months, not years
The combo is designed around integrated gas-fired generation and Eos’s Indensity™ storage architecture. Translation: instead of waiting forever for grid upgrades, the companies are trying to deliver usable capacity in months. That’s the kind of promise hyperscalers, data-center builders, and anyone with an electricity bill the size of a mortgage would love to hear.
Why investors should care
If this works, it gives Eos another way to plug into the AI buildout without having to bet solely on traditional utility timelines. It also nudges the company into a more strategic corner of the market: not just batteries, but a broader power-infrastructure story.
Big picture: AI may be the flashy frontman, but power is the drummer keeping the whole tour on beat. And right now, everyone wants a faster drummer.
