Not your average handshake
CoreWeave says it locked up a $6 billion AI deal with Jane Street, which is basically the business equivalent of showing up with a regular guitar and leaving with a stadium tour.
Why this matters
The headline is less about the name on the contract and more about the message underneath it: AI compute is still moving at absurd speed. When a trading firm like Jane Street is willing to commit that kind of money, it tells you the demand curve for high-powered infrastructure is still very real.
The investor angle
For CoreWeave, a contract this size can mean:
- more visibility into future revenue
- a stronger pitch to other enterprise customers
- another reminder that AI infrastructure is becoming its own arms race
Of course, big deals can also come with big expectations. Investors now get to ask the annoying but important question: can CoreWeave keep signing these monster contracts without the economics getting weird?
Big picture: If AI is the gold rush, CoreWeave is selling the shovels—and Jane Street just bought a warehouse full of them.
