Green light, finally
Enbridge got a presidential permit for Enbridge Pipelines (Southern Lights) L.L.C., an indirectly owned subsidiary, giving the company a fresh regulatory win on its North Dakota pipeline setup. In plain English: the federal government just said, “yes, you may proceed,” at least under the conditions in the permit.
Why this matters to investors
For pipeline names, regulation is the whole game. You can have all the steel in the world, but if the permit drawer stays locked, nothing moves. A presidential permit can remove a major overhang, cut down on uncertainty, and make the project a little less of a political football.
