New face, same soda empire
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners is giving its Great Britain business unit a new captain: An Vermeulen. She’s been named vice president and general manager as part of a wider executive team reshuffle that kicks in on May 1.
Why this matters
If you’re thinking, “Cool, another corporate title swap,” fair. But GB is one of CCEP’s biggest and most strategically important markets, so the person running it actually matters. That’s especially true when a company is trying to keep its growth engine humming without spilling too much syrup on the floor.
Why Vermeulen is the kind of internal hire companies love
Vermeulen isn’t coming in cold. She’s already been steering CCEP’s public affairs, communications and sustainability function, and she’s had exposure to the France, Benelux and Nordics business unit too. Translation: she knows the company, the regions, and probably where the bodies are buried in the org chart.
Big picture
This looks less like a dramatic breakup and more like CCEP shuffling its chairs to put the right person in the right market. For investors, the key question is whether the new setup keeps one of the company’s most important regions moving in the right direction.
