Another courtroom win, same old headache
Apple kicked off the week by dodging another Apple Watch landmine. The U.S. International Trade Commission refused to review a ruling that had already cleared Apple’s redesigned watches of patent infringement, which means Masimo’s push to bring back a U.S. import ban just hit a brick wall.
For Apple, that’s one less legal booby trap sitting under the wearables business. For investors, it’s the kind of news that doesn’t usually send you to the moon — but it does help keep a lucrative product line from getting dragged back into the courtroom mud.
