Salesforce and Google Cloud are widening their alliance, and the headline is basically this: AI agents should now be able to do real work across both platforms instead of acting like they need a chaperone every time they change apps. Think Slack, Google Workspace, Agentforce, and Gemini Enterprise all talking to each other like they finally got the group chat invite.
Why that matters
The whole promise of enterprise AI has been a little awkward so far. Everyone wants a smart assistant, but nobody wants one that falls flat on its face because the data lives in seven different corners of the building. This deal is aimed at that exact headache—letting customers build end-to-end workflows with more context, less duct tape, and fewer “wait, where’s that file?” moments.
For Salesforce, this is about making AI less sci-fi
For CRM, the upside is pretty clear: the more deeply Agentforce plugs into the day-to-day software people already use, the harder it gets for customers to rip it out later. That’s the enterprise software version of moving from a casual fling to a long-term lease.
