Another bolt-on bite
Watsco is back in acquisition mode. The company said Tuesday it agreed to buy Jackson Supply Company, a Sunbelt HVAC distributor, adding another piece to its already sprawling air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration empire.
Why this matters for your portfolio
This is the kind of deal that can look boring on a headline and quietly matter a lot in the business. HVAC distribution is all about scale, local reach, and getting the right gear where contractors need it. If Watsco can keep snapping up regional players, it can deepen its network and probably squeeze a few more advantages out of its size.
The one missing piece
The company didn’t disclose the price, which is a little like saying you bought a car but refusing to tell anyone whether it was a Corolla or a Ferrari. That means investors can’t immediately tell how accretive the deal might be, or how much Watsco is stretching for growth.
Big picture
For Watsco, this is business as usual: buy, integrate, repeat. If the company keeps finding good tuck-in deals, the market usually gives it some credit for disciplined expansion. If not, well, even roll-ups can start to feel like you’re just stacking furniture in the garage.
