Zero Trust, now for the things that don’t tweet
Zscaler is showing up in a new corner of the internet: the machine-to-machine world. IXT said it’s integrating Zscaler Zero Trust into its IoT SIM platform, which is a fancy way of saying connected devices can get secure access without the old-school VPN hamster wheel.
Why that matters
If you’re running IoT gear in critical infrastructure, you probably don’t want exposed ports lying around like an unlocked back door. This setup promises:
- no VPN clients
- no exposed ports
- full visibility into IoT devices
That’s catnip for security teams, and potentially a nice little wedge for Zscaler as zero-trust architecture keeps spreading beyond laptops and office networks.
The investor angle
This isn’t a blockbuster acquisition or a giant revenue guide-up. It’s more like a breadcrumb trail: another partner, another use case, another reason enterprises keep circling back to Zscaler’s platform. In a market where security vendors all scream “next-gen,” distribution and integrations are the quiet stuff that can actually move the needle.
Big picture: if Zero Trust is the new default, Zscaler wants to be the plumbing behind it — even for the stuff sitting on factory floors and utility grids.
