Record breaker, but make it pulp
Suzano spent its first-quarter update flexing a very specific superpower: moving a ridiculous amount of pulp. Over the 12 months from April 2025 through March 2026, the company sold 12.7 million tonnes of the stuff — the biggest volume in its history.
Why investors care
Pulp sounds boring until you remember it’s the starting material for everything from tissue to packaging to printing paper. In other words: if Suzano is selling more of it, that can be a pretty healthy sign for demand across its end markets. And in a commodity-ish business, scale matters. A lot.
The other half of the story
Suzano also sold 1.7 million tonnes of paper across packaging, printing and writing, specialty, and tissue segments over the same period. That gives the company a little more balance than a pure one-note commodity play — kind of like a band that can actually play more than one song.
Big picture
The headline here isn’t a fancy new product or a splashy acquisition. It’s volume. Real volume. And in industrial land, record sales can be a nice confidence signal that the machine is still humming.
