SAP’s latest AI remix
SAP SE said Tuesday it’s launching Autonomous Enterprise, a new effort aimed at making its most important business workflows run a little more like autopilot and a little less like a corporate scavenger hunt.
The twist? SAP isn’t doing this solo in a hoodie. It’s deepening partnerships with Anthropic, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft, NVIDIA and Palantir. That’s a pretty serious guest list, and it tells you SAP wants to be more than just the place where invoices and supply chains go to nap.
Why investors should care
This is classic enterprise-software chess: get closer to the customer’s daily operations, make switching costs annoying, and then quietly become impossible to leave. If SAP can turn these partnerships into real product adoption, it could strengthen its AI story and give customers one more reason to keep their workflows inside SAP’s ecosystem.
For now, the market will probably ask the obvious question: is this real monetization or just another glossy AI headline with a better logo deck? The answer will come down to whether SAP can convert partner hype into usage, retention and, eventually, revenue.
Big picture: SAP is trying to sell the dream of a business that mostly runs itself. If it works, that’s not just a cool demo — that’s a stickier platform and a much better story for shareholders.
