Athens gets the first lap
lululemon is officially planting its flag in Greece. The company said it’s opening its first two stores there through a franchise partnership with Arion Retail Group, with one shop landing in central Athens tomorrow and a second set for June 12th at the Golden Hall mall.
Why investors should care
This isn’t a giant revenue moonshot by itself. But it does tell you lululemon is still pushing its brand beyond the usual North America-heavy comfort zone, and doing it in a capital-light way via franchising instead of opening every store with its own wallet.
The bigger vibe check
For a premium brand, international expansion is the long game: more stores, more visibility, more chances to turn shoppers into “I only wear this now” loyalists. If the Greece rollout works, it could be a tidy proof point that lululemon’s playbook still travels well.
Big picture: small storefronts, bigger ambition. Sometimes that’s how global growth starts — one carefully placed yoga pant at a time.
