New gig, same robots
Serve Robotics is taking its sidewalk bots on a little career pivot. The company announced a partnership with NoScrubs, a fast-growing on-demand laundry service, to start delivering laundry orders in select Los Angeles neighborhoods this week.
That matters because this is Serve's first commercial urban delivery deal outside of prepared food. In other words, the company is trying to prove its robots can be more than the robot version of a pizza guy.
Why investors should pay attention
If the pilot works, Serve gets a fresh use case for the same fleet it already owns, which is the kind of business-model flex investors like to see. More verticals can mean more routes, more utilization, and more chances to turn a sidewalk robot hobby into a real delivery platform.
- The launch is starting in Los Angeles
- It uses Serve's existing autonomous sidewalk robots
- The partnership expands beyond food into laundry, which broadens the addressable market
Big picture: Serve is trying to show that its robots can deliver whatever fits in the bin, not just lunch.
