CoreWeave wins the beauty contest
BNP Paribas analyst Stefan Slowinski is basically saying: if you’re picking a neocloud name, CoreWeave gets the more enthusiastic nod. He slapped a $192 price target on CRWV and argued the market is still underappreciating the company’s ability to execute, even after a pretty bumpy stretch.
That matters because CoreWeave has been trading like a stock that’s constantly being graded on a curve. Investors have been obsessing over execution, management messaging, and whether the company can actually hit its guidance instead of just talking a big AI-infrastructure game.
Why the market cares
Slowinski’s bigger point is that the stock’s next leg probably depends less on vibes and more on proof. He thinks the profitability ramp in the second half of 2026 makes sense, but investors want to see the inflection show up in reported numbers before they hand out a trophy.
He also highlighted the economics behind CoreWeave’s heavily financed GPU deployments, arguing the long-term returns could look attractive if the machines keep earning and their useful lives stretch beyond six years. Translation: the math works better if the GPUs don’t age like milk.
Nebius is cool, but not the same story
Nebius still gets a respectable nod — just not the same upside call. BNP’s view is that NBIS has a cleaner balance sheet, good execution history, and a strong European investor fan club, but it’s also moving into a tougher growth phase where much larger data-center builds have to actually go live.
And then there’s the token-usage subplot, which is the kind of thing only AI infrastructure could make exciting. If customers are consuming fewer tokens in the near term, some investors might panic and assume AI demand is cooling. BNP says don’t overreact — it’s more like the market is shifting from frontier lab spending to enterprise usage, which is less flashy but more durable.
Big picture: CoreWeave is still in the “prove it” stage, but BNP Paribas thinks it’s got the better setup. In neocloud land, that’s basically a high-stakes game of who can turn GPU fumes into actual cash flow first.
