Honeywell’s breakup is officially on the calendar
Honeywell is moving from “we’re planning to split up” to “here are the dates, mark your calendars.” The company said June 15 will be the record date for the long-awaited spin-off of Honeywell Aerospace, with the distribution expected on June 29, 2026.
What you’re getting
If you own HON on the record date, you’re expected to receive one share of Honeywell Aerospace common stock for every two shares of Honeywell common stock you hold. The new aerospace business is also expected to start trading on Nasdaq that same day under the ticker HONA.
Oh, and the stock itself is getting a trim
Honeywell said its reverse stock split is also expected to happen on June 29, 2026. That matters because a reverse split doesn’t magically create value, but it can change the share count and optics in a way that investors always notice.
Why investors should care
This is the kind of corporate housekeeping that can change how the market prices both pieces of the business. After the spin, investors will be able to judge Honeywell’s industrial core and aerospace unit on their own merits instead of trying to untangle the whole corporate spaghetti bowl.
Big picture: Honeywell’s breakup is getting real, and the market is about to find out whether the sum of the parts is actually worth more than the pre-spin blob.
