PlugFest, but make it bullish
AmpliTech just got a little rocket fuel. The company said its 64T64R Massive MIMO radio was the only one on display at the O-RAN ALLIANCE Global PlugFest Spring 2026, where the whole point is basically: can all these different vendors’ toys actually work together without throwing a tantrum?
For investors, this matters because Open RAN lives and dies on interoperability. If AmpliTech can keep proving its hardware fits into those multi-vendor setups, that’s a nice credibility boost — and credibility is currency when you’re trying to win telecom business.
Why traders cared
The stock was up almost 12% in premarket trading and hit a new 52-week high, which is the market’s way of saying, “show me more.” There’s also a little momentum-party vibe here, with the shares way above both their 20-day and 200-day moving averages.
The catch
The technicals are starting to look a bit stretched, with RSI in overbought territory. So yes, the breakout is real — but so is the possibility of a quick breather if traders decide to take some chips off the table.
Big picture: this is the kind of milestone that can keep a small-cap hardware name on investors’ radar, especially when Open RAN and AI-RAN are still very much in the “prove it” phase.
