Trane Technologies is handing Donny Simmons the COO title, with the change taking effect on July 1, 2026. He’ll report to Chair and CEO Dave Regnery and take on the company’s regional business units and operations.
Why this matters
On paper, this looks like your standard executive shuffle. In reality, a COO appointment can be a pretty loud hint that management wants tighter coordination between the folks making the plans and the folks actually shipping the stuff.
For a company like Trane — which lives in the unglamorous but very real world of climate systems, operations, and execution — that can matter a lot. If the business can line up its regional teams and operations more cleanly, it may be better positioned to push growth without turning the back office into a traffic jam.
