Not broken, just pricier
Credo is still getting credit for the good stuff: higher interconnect demand, multi-year data center capex, and a broader customer mix across hyperscalers and neoclouds. Add in the Dust Photonics acquisition, and the bull case still has some juice.
But the easy money may be gone
The problem is simple: when a stock has already been acting like the smartest kid in class, analysts start asking whether the valuation has sprinted ahead of the fundamentals. This downgrade to Hold is basically a “cool story, but do you really want to chase it here?” moment.
The growth story isn’t dead
The piece still points to high-double-digit growth in FY2027, with optical ramping more heavily in the second half and new scale-up opportunities showing up in FY2028. In other words, the long-term setup is still intact — it just may not be the kind of setup that guarantees easy upside from current levels.
Big picture
For investors, this is less a panic alarm and more a seatbelt warning. Credo may still be a winner, but the market loves to punish anyone who pays peak enthusiasm prices for a still-growing story.
