Rubrik wants to put guardrails on AI agents

AI, but with a seatbelt

Rubrik is teaming up with Cognizant to help enterprises run autonomous AI more safely in production. Think of it like giving AI agents a hall pass, but with a teacher watching the hall monitor.

The companies say Cognizant will be one of the first global systems integrators to operationalize Rubrik Agent Cloud, embedding it into Cognizant Neuro AI and AI Factory. The pitch: customers get visibility into what agents are doing, real-time policy enforcement, and the ability to reverse unintended actions in certain scenarios.

Why investors should care

This is classic enterprise software gravity: if AI agents are going to touch real workflows, someone has to manage the mess when they go off-script. That makes governance, auditability, and rollback features less of a nice-to-have and more of a budget line item.

For Rubrik, the deal strengthens its story beyond backup and recovery and pushes it further into AI control infrastructure. For Cognizant, it adds another enterprise-ready AI offering it can sell into clients who want the shiny new thing — just not the liability that comes with it.
