New name, bigger ambitions
Rumble decided the old “video-sharing platform” label was getting a little too small for the group chat. The company said it’s rebranding to RUM Group Inc. as it rolls its video, cloud, and AI infrastructure businesses into one legal brand.
That matters because this is Rumble telling the market, loudly, that it wants to be more than the place where Truth Social hangs out.
Meet Quake AI
The big shiny object here is Quake AI, the new name for Rumble Cloud. It will house the cloud and computing assets Rumble picked up in its $767 million all-stock Northern Data acquisition, plus the acquired company’s AI and data center footprint.
A few numbers that make the pitch feel less like startup cosplay and more like infrastructure:
- about 22,000 NVIDIA GPUs
- nine data centers
- up to 250 megawatts of power capacity
- more than 200 MW of unmonetized energy capacity, according to CEO Chris Pavlovski
Why investors care
This is classic “we’re not just a media company anymore” behavior. Rumble is trying to build a second act in cloud and AI compute, and it already has a $270 million multi-year contract for dedicated GPU capacity powered by NVIDIA Blackwell B300 systems.
That gives the story two angles:
- Rumble may be building a real infrastructure revenue stream.
- The market now has to decide whether this is a smart pivot or a very expensive identity crisis with better branding.
Big picture
Rumble stock barely moved during the day, then popped in extended trading, which tells you investors are at least curious. The rebrand won’t make the GPUs work harder, but it does signal that Rumble wants to be judged like an AI infrastructure company, not just a video app with a political fan club.
