SEALSQ is trying to make NFTs feel less like speculative pixel trading and more like something with a lock, key, and a bouncer at the door. The company said the European Patent Office granted it a divisional patent for its Back-to-Physical NFT technology, which embeds NFTs directly into secure semiconductor chips.
That means the digital token isn’t just a line on a blockchain—it’s tied to a physical object through hardware-rooted authentication. In plain English: harder to fake, easier to verify, and way more useful if you’re trying to prove provenance for art, luxury goods, or other high-value stuff that likes to come with a certificate and a dramatic backstory.
Why investors should care
This is mostly an IP and ecosystem story, not a quick revenue headline. But in tiny-cap land, patents matter because they can become the company’s moat, marketing slogan, and dinner-party flex all at once. SEALSQ is signaling that its semiconductor security stack has real-world use cases beyond crypto buzzwords.
The company also said its sister platform, WISe.ART, has become the world’s first hardware-authenticated art platform. That’s a neat brand pitch if nothing else: art authentication with actual chips under the hood instead of vibes and a clipboard.

If SEALSQ can turn this patent into commercial traction, it could help separate the company from the usual “cool tech, now what?” crowd.
