HIVE Digital Technologies is turning its Boden, Sweden site into something much less “crypto miner with a side hustle” and a lot more “AI landlord with expensive taste.” The company says it signed a long-term HPC colocation LOI with an investment-grade Swedish client, with the retrofit designed to handle up to 10,000 GB300 GPUs.
Why investors should care
This is the kind of announcement that can change the story. A colocation LOI doesn’t mean cash is in the bank yet, but it does suggest HIVE has a serious customer willing to park compute at its facility. In AI infrastructure, that’s the difference between selling the shovel and owning the gold rush real estate.
Boden becomes the plot twist
Boden has already been showing up in HIVE’s recent Sweden expansion chatter, and this adds another layer to the buildout. If the retrofit lands as planned, HIVE could be sitting on a much larger high-performance computing footprint — the sort of thing that can attract more enterprise demand if the power, cooling, and financing all line up.
