Palantir just turned into an AI middleman

Double deal, double dip

Palantir woke up and decided one partnership wasn’t enough. The company announced a sovereign AI initiative with Nvidia for U.S. government agencies and critical infrastructure, plus an expanded commercial partnership with Surf Air Mobility to keep building out SurfOS.

The Nvidia side of the room

The Nvidia deal is the shiny headliner. The two companies want to deliver an intelligent engine for running Nvidia AI and Nemotron open models inside sovereign environments — think classified, air-gapped, and very-not-for-public-Discord settings. Palantir is plugging in AIP, Ontology, Foundry, and Apollo, which is basically its way of saying: “We can help you train, deploy, govern, and audit the whole thing without losing control of the data.”

For investors, that matters because it reinforces Palantir’s pitch as the control layer for serious customers who care about security as much as speed. In other words, it’s not just selling AI hype; it’s selling the plumbing that makes the hype usable.

Surf Air gets more runway

Separately, Palantir said it’s putting more engineering and go-to-market muscle behind SurfOS, including OperatorOS, OwnerOS, and SurfOS Enterprise Solutions. That buildout follows the successful launch of BrokerOS and a new multi-million-dollar contract with Wheels Up, which is serving as the launch customer for Enterprise BrokerOS.

The takeaway: Palantir is threading itself deeper into both public-sector AI and niche commercial software. Big picture: when your software becomes the default control panel for someone else’s fancy AI, you get a lot more leverage than just another logo on a slide deck.
