Oklo says it has acquired Creative Engineers, a chemical process engineering shop with deep chops in sodium and alkali-metal systems. Translation: it’s buying more of the specialized know-how that advanced nuclear players need if they want to move from glossy slide decks to real-world reactors.
Why this matters
This isn’t the kind of acquisition that makes for a flashy Super Bowl ad, but it does matter in a field where one material science headache can turn into a giant delay. By adding CEI’s expertise in liquid-metal systems, component development, fabrication, manufacturing, and applied R&D, Oklo is basically saying, “We’d like fewer bottlenecks, please.”
The investor read
For bulls, this is another sign Oklo is building out its technical moat one niche capability at a time. For everyone else, it’s a reminder that advanced fission is still very much a build-it-as-you-go story — and every acquisition is another clue about how much heavy lifting remains.
Big picture: Oklo isn’t buying revenue here. It’s buying time, talent, and less room for engineering chaos to hijack the reactor roadmap.
