A very rich trend
UBS says 2025 was a banner year for millionaire creation, with the global count climbing to 58 million people. The U.S. accounted for more than 440,000 of those new millionaires, which works out to roughly 1,200 fresh millionaires a day. Not exactly a bad year for the people already hanging around the right side of the market.
Why investors should care
This isn’t just cocktail-party trivia. It’s a snapshot of how powerful stock market gains can be when they sit on top of already-wealthy balance sheets. More money in the top end of the wealth ladder can mean more spending, more asset inflows, and more staying power for risk assets.
The bigger picture
It also highlights the same old market plot twist: stocks may look like a giant casino, but the winners usually get to keep playing with bigger chips. Meanwhile, everyone else is still trying to figure out whether they bought the dip or just caught a falling knife.
Big picture: when equities run hot, they don’t just move portfolios — they can redraw the map of wealth itself.
