Intel Foundry says it has crossed a chunky milestone: high-volume manufacturing has started for a subset of Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, code-named Panther Lake, using ASML’s EXE High NA EUV tools. In plain English? The chipmaking process that sounded like sci-fi lab jargon is now making actual product.
Why the market cares
This isn’t just a trophy for the engineering team to put on the shelf. Intel says specific Intel 18A layers are now dual-qualified on High NA EUV in Oregon, and the product is shipping to customers with yields matched to the NXE platform. Translation: the process is maturing, and Intel is trying to prove its next-gen manufacturing engine can run at scale without tripping over its own shoelaces.
