China just let Apple’s AI in the door
Apple Intelligence has been registered for use on iPhones in China, according to the country’s cyberspace regulator. Translation: Apple just got past one of the bigger local-government speed bumps standing between its AI features and Chinese users.

This isn’t the kind of headline that sends confetti cannons blasting from Cupertino, but it is the sort of regulatory housekeeping that can make or break a product rollout in a massive market. China is a huge piece of Apple’s iPhone business, so anything that makes the device more useful there is worth a look.

Apple’s been trying to sell the idea that its AI features are a reason to stay in the iPhone camp.
