New coat of paint, same fertilizer giant
Mosaic is suddenly getting treated like the underappreciated kid in class who actually does have a 4.0. The new Strong Buy call argues that the stock’s valuation and asset quality create a pretty attractive risk-reward setup, even with macro headwinds still blowing in from the Middle East.
The messy part
This isn’t a victory lap. Mosaic is still dealing with Q1 losses and cost pressure, so the business doesn’t exactly have confetti raining down on it. But management is responding the way investors like to see: trimming costs, deferring capex, and keeping financial flexibility intact instead of going full YOLO with the checkbook.
Where the upside might be hiding
The real bull case is that Mosaic may have more optionality than the market is pricing in. The Ma'aden stake could unlock value, and the Uberaba rare earths project adds another possible lever if the company decides to reallocate capital in a smarter way.
Big picture: this is less about a dazzling near-term turnaround and more about a stock that might be undervalued if management keeps squeezing out cost savings and unlocking assets like a corporate escape room.
