Boeing’s commercial airplane boss said on Sunday the company is looking at yet another production increase for the 737 MAX. That comes after regulators gave Boeing the green light in May to raise output to 47 planes per month.
Why this matters
For Boeing, production isn’t just a nerdy manufacturing metric — it’s the engine room. More MAX jets rolling off the line can eventually mean more deliveries, more revenue, and better breathing room after years of headline-swallowing turbulence. The catch
This is still a study, not a done deal. Boeing has to keep proving it can ramp up without tripping over quality-control issues or running into regulator side-eye. In other words: the gas pedal is tempting, but the guardrails are still very much there.
