Korea wants a bigger AI engine
Nvidia is helping NAVER and Brookfield expand Korea’s national AI factory infrastructure, with plans to grow NAVER’s initial multi-tenant NVIDIA DSX AI factory to 200 megawatts by 2028. That’s not a tiny tweak — it’s the kind of buildout that says, “We’re not just dabbling in AI, we’re laying down the electrical plumbing for it.”
Why investors should care
For Nvidia, this is bigger than a logo on a press release. It’s another reminder that the company’s moat isn’t just GPUs anymore — it’s the whole AI stack, from chips to systems to the giant, power-hungry buildings that keep the model-training party going.
That matters because every new factory, lab, or cloud partnership tends to pull more of the Nvidia ecosystem into the real world. And once customers start building around your platform, the switching costs start looking a lot less optional.
The bigger picture
This deal also shows how AI demand is turning into a full-on infrastructure race. Korea’s trying to position itself as a serious AI hub, and Nvidia gets to be the picks-and-shovels seller at the center of it.
Big picture: when the AI hype cycle starts looking expensive, it helps if you’re the company selling the shovels, the mine carts, and the land survey map.
