Synopsys says it’s pushing an open, interoperable agentic AI stack across the chip design lifecycle — basically handing some of the repetitive engineering chores to software so humans can spend more time on the hard stuff. The headline move here is two new agentic EDA workflows, built with Microsoft and already being used by AMD, now available for evaluation on Microsoft Discovery. In plain English: Synopsys is planting its flag in the AI infrastructure race by making its tools easier to access inside Microsoft’s ecosystem, which could help it win more design wins as chipmakers scramble to move faster from specification to silicon.
