New boss, bigger quantum dreams
Infleqtion is shuffling the org chart and handing Dr. Joseph Buck the keys to its quantum computing systems team. He joined on July 27th after coming over from Lockheed Martin, where he was a senior fellow at the Advanced Technology Center.
Why this matters
This isn't just a fancy title swap. Buck is now leading development of Sqale, Infleqtion's scalable neutral-atom quantum computer — the thing the company is betting will turn sci-fi slides into actual hardware.
For investors, management hires like this can matter a lot in deep-tech land. Quantum computing is still in the “show me” phase, so the real question is whether Infleqtion can attract top technical talent and keep building credible systems faster than the competition.
The long game
