Jet.AI is going full power-hungry
Jet.AI just announced a strategic equity investment in StratGrid, a Calgary-based developer of behind-the-meter, natural gas-powered data center infrastructure. In plain English: the company is chasing the giant, electricity-sucking infrastructure that powers AI, and Alberta is the playground.
Why Alberta?
Alberta has two things every data-center builder loves: energy and room to build. Jet.AI says the province could support gigawatt-scale AI data center capacity, which is the kind of phrase that makes infrastructure investors sit up straighter.
What this means for Jet.AI
The deal was done through SG Canada InvestCo LLC, a vehicle where Jet.AI owns a majority interest, so this isn’t just a casual side quest. It suggests Jet.AI wants more control over how it builds out its GPU and AI cloud ambitions.
If the AI boom is a gold rush, Jet.AI is buying the shovels, the bulldozers, and maybe a small power plant too. Big picture: the company is signaling that its future is increasingly tied to energy-intensive AI infrastructure, not just its existing business mix.
