New face, same sales hustle
AEye (Nasdaq: LIDR) said it appointed Laura Wrisley as Chief Revenue Officer, effective August 18th, 2026. She’s coming in with more than 20 years of commercial leadership across data transport, lidar, and autonomous robots — basically the kind of résumé that says, “I’ve seen the future and it needs a pipeline.”
Why investors should care
For a company like AEye, this isn’t just a tidy little HR update. Revenue chiefs are the people who try to turn promising tech into actual contracts, which is a lot less glamorous than the demo reel but a lot more important for the stock chart. If Wrisley can help AEye convert its autonomous driving and lidar ambitions into customers, that’s the kind of operational glue investors usually like.
The timing matters
The hire lands just weeks after AEye scheduled its Q2 earnings for August 6th, so you’ve got a classic combo: a fresh sales leader plus an upcoming check-in on whether the business is actually moving. Not exactly fireworks, but definitely one of those “watch the next few quarters” moments.
Big picture
AEye is still in the messy part of the growth-story playbook — lots of technical promise, not enough patience. Bringing in a seasoned CRO suggests management wants to get a little less sci-fi and a little more spreadsheet.
