Another brick in the defense wall
Ondas said its U.S.-based defense prime contractor, Mistral Inc., received an over-$50 million order from the U.S. Army for tactical Lethal Unmanned Systems. The order comes under a previously awarded $982 million multi-year IDIQ, which is a very government way of saying: the pipeline is real, and the follow-on demand is still flowing.
Why investors should care
This isn’t just a nice headline for the press release scrapbook. It suggests Ondas is continuing to turn its defense push into actual revenue-bearing work, which is the whole game when you’re building in a market where contracts can be the difference between “future growth story” and “show me the invoices.”
The company also said it’s already producing systems for delivery in the third quarter under the initial $190.8 million order tied to the same LUS program. In other words, this isn’t vaporware with a fancy acronym — it’s moving into delivery mode.
Big picture
For ONDS, the defense thesis is getting another real-world test, and so far the checks appear to be clearing. If the Army keeps writing orders and Ondas keeps delivering, the stock has more than just hype to lean on. Big picture: in defense, execution is the moat.
