Palladyne AI says it has appointed retired Maj. Gen. Mark A. “Droopy” Clark to its Defense Advisory Board. Clark previously led Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command, so this is not exactly a random LinkedIn add — it’s a serious defense résumé walking through the door.
Why investors should care
For a company pitching embodied AI, autonomous systems, UAVs, and defense tech, boardroom firepower can matter. It can help with credibility, relationships, and the kind of Pentagon-adjacent storytelling that makes procurement folks listen a little longer.
That said, this isn’t an earnings pop or a new contract. It’s more of a “we’re getting the right people around the table” move — the corporate equivalent of hiring a veteran coach before the season starts.
