New face in a very unglamorous seat
Chevron said it elected Uriel “Ose” Oseguera as treasurer, effective November 1, 2026. He’ll take over from Navin Mahajan, who’s heading for retirement after nearly three decades at the company.
Why investors should care
Treasury is where the grown-up stuff happens: capital markets, corporate finance, insurance, credit, and risk management. In other words, this isn’t the kind of change that sends traders sprinting for the exits, but it does tweak the steering wheel on how Chevron funds itself and manages balance-sheet risk.
The handoff
Oseguera currently works inside Chevron already, so this looks more like an internal baton pass than a dramatic outsider hire. That usually means less chaos, fewer awkward icebreakers, and a smoother transition for investors watching for continuity.
Big picture
For a giant like Chevron, leadership changes in finance roles can be boring in the best possible way. If the company can keep its capital and risk machinery humming while the oil market does its usual roller-coaster thing, that’s a win.
