The thesis is finally getting legs
Energy Fuels is getting a fresh vote of confidence, with the upgrade to Buy tied to something markets love almost as much as profits: proof. The company’s uranium operations are now big enough to matter, costs look competitive, and selling prices are strong enough to make the economics feel less theoretical.
Rare earths: still ambitious, now less hand-wavy
The other half of the story is the rare-earth strategy, which is starting to look commercially clearer. Energy Fuels is leaning into vertical integration through the ASM and VAC acquisitions, a setup that could give it more control over the supply chain from mining all the way to permanent magnets.
That’s the kind of move that sounds nerdy until you realize it’s basically the industrial version of owning the farm, the bakery, and the grocery store.
The real upside is later
Sure, the stock is still valued at about 25x 2028 earnings, so nobody’s calling this cheap. But the bigger argument is that the real juice may come later, as Sumter and White Mesa Phase 2 scale between 2029 and 2031.
So yes, this is still a patient-investor story. But unlike a lot of “future growth” pitches, this one has more concrete pieces on the board than it used to.
Big picture: Energy Fuels is moving from speculative optionality toward an actual operating story — and that usually gets Wall Street a lot less skeptical.
