Nvidia is deepening its role in the AI buildout at SB Energy’s PORTS-Pike Technology Campus in Ohio, where it’ll be the exclusive AI compute infrastructure provider. Translation: this is not just “here are some GPUs, good luck.” It’s Nvidia helping grease the entire machine — land, power, shell buildout, the works.

The campus is expected to start with 4.25 IT-GW of initial capacity, with an option to grab the remaining 3.75 IT-GW later. And the customer on the other side of this setup? OpenAI, which is basically the poster child for the AI boom right now.
Why investors should care
This matters because Nvidia keeps turning itself into the toll collector for the AI economy. The more AI campuses, compute contracts, and power-heavy projects it gets attached to, the less it looks like a one-trick chip shop and the more it looks like the plumbing behind the whole AI industrial complex.
Also, the deal is pitched as an Ohio jobs bonanza, with tens of thousands of jobs and a community benefits fund starting at $80 million. Big picture: Nvidia is doing what every gold-rush winner eventually does — selling the picks, shovels, and maybe the land under the mine.
