Peanut butter? Nope, Peanuts
Conagra Brands is giving Duncan Hines and Swiss Miss a little cartoon-star power, partnering with Peanuts to launch a fresh collection of baking mixes and hot cocoa featuring Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and Peppermint Patty.
Why this matters
This is the kind of move that won’t move a quarterly model by itself, but it can absolutely help a company keep its brands from feeling like the grocery aisle equivalent of beige wallpaper. Limited-edition packaging and nostalgic characters can spark impulse buys, especially heading into the months when comfort food starts acting like a personality trait.
The investor angle
For Conagra, the play is pretty straightforward:
- lean on familiar brands like Duncan Hines and Swiss Miss
- borrow Peanuts’ built-in multigenerational fan base
- create a little shelf pop without needing a full product overhaul
That said, this is still mostly a marketing-and-merchandising story, not a blockbuster financial catalyst. If the collection clicks, though, it can help reinforce brand relevance in a category where “same old, same old” is a fast track to getting ignored.
Big picture: in packaged foods, nostalgia is a feature, not a bug — and Conagra is betting Snoopy still sells.
