A rare Semi sighting
Tesla’s Semi has spent years in the “cool concept, where’s the rollout?” category. Now Einride AB says it will deploy 500 of them this year, which is a lot more concrete than Elon-flavored hype and a lot better than another blurry prototype parked outside a factory.
Why investors care
This matters because the Semi has always been about more than one truck. It’s a proof point for Tesla’s ability to turn a long-teased product into a commercial business, and that can help the stock narrative if investors believe the company can finally scale beyond the EV car plotline.
The catch? One fleet order doesn’t magically solve Tesla’s bigger Semi problem: production, delivery timing, and whether this thing can actually become a meaningful business instead of a recurring conference-room slide.
The bigger Tesla question
For Tesla bulls, this is the kind of customer validation they’ve been waiting for since 2017. For skeptics, it’s still just one more chapter in a very long “coming soon” saga.
Big picture: if Tesla can stack enough fleet wins like this, the Semi stops being a side quest and starts looking like a real revenue lane.
