Boise gets the big bet
Micron is planting a pretty expensive flag in Boise: Micron Research Labs will be headquartered there, and the company says it plans to spend $10 billion over the next 10 years to back the effort. That’s not pocket change. That’s “we’re serious, please notice” money.
Why investors should care
For Micron, this is less about a shiny new campus and more about keeping the memory roadmap moving while AI demand keeps rewriting the rules. If the company can turn research dollars into better memory tech, faster product cycles, and stronger pricing power, shareholders get the good stuff. If not, well, it’s a very pricey science project.
