CEO money talks
TTM Technologies' CEO Edwin Roks just put about $1.1 million of his own cash into 10,000 shares at $111.77 each. That’s not pocket change, and it usually lands with investors as a pretty loud vote of confidence.
Why investors care
Insider buys aren’t magic, but they can be a useful smell test. When the CEO reaches for the checkbook, it can suggest the company’s near-term setup looks better than the market thinks — or at least that management believes the current share price isn’t giving TTMI enough credit.
The fine print
A few things to keep in mind before you start doing victory laps:
- One insider buy doesn’t guarantee upside.
- Executives buy for all sorts of reasons, including optics.
- But a $1.1 million personal commitment is still a lot harder to shrug off than a corporate talking point.
Big picture: insider buying won’t fix a business by itself, but it can be a helpful little nudge when you’re trying to figure out whether Wall Street is being too gloomy or too generous.
