A little more silicon, a lot more crypto
SEALSQ is back with another quantum-flavored pitch, and this time the buzzword buffet is called QASIC. The company says its subsidiary IC'Alps is advancing the roadmap for sovereign, quantum-resistant application-specific integrated circuits — which is a very fancy way of saying it wants to build custom chips that don’t panic when quantum computing starts cracking old-school encryption.
Why investors should care
The roadmap initially points at three juicy markets: cybersecurity, medical, and automotive. That matters because each of those industries has a serious appetite for secure, specialized hardware — and if SEALSQ can actually turn post-quantum security into a product people buy, this could help move the story from “interesting concept” to “real business.”
The fine print, but make it human
This isn’t a revenue number or a signed mega-contract. It’s more like the company opening the hood and saying, “Look, the engine is getting bigger.”
- Cybersecurity: the obvious home base for quantum-resistant chips
- Medical: where secure hardware can be a feature, not a bonus
- Automotive: another place where chip security is getting less optional by the day
Big picture: SEALSQ is still selling the future here, but at least this update shows the future has a roadmap instead of just a PowerPoint deck.
