Back on the Bitcoin horse
Strategy just told the market, in the most Strategy way possible, that it’s back in buying mode. The company picked up 4,603 Bitcoin for roughly $370 million, with Michael Saylor’s “We’re Back” post on Sunday basically acting like the trailer before the movie.
Summer break, over
This wasn’t some random impulse buy. Over the last two months, Strategy had hit pause on Bitcoin purchases and instead spent time tightening up its financial plumbing:
- it sold 6,916 BTC for about $429 million
- raised $4.56 billion by issuing roughly 44.3 million MSTR shares
- repurchased more than $500 million of STRC preferred shares
- grew its USD reserve from $2.55 billion to $5.1 billion
That’s a lot of balance-sheet yoga. The upshot: net leverage is now at zero, and dollar assets are fully covering outstanding debt.
What it means for MSTR
Monday’s buy says Strategy thinks it has enough cushion to get aggressive again. That matters because MSTR has basically become a leveraged proxy for Bitcoin, so every treasury move tends to spill straight into the stock.
The shares were already wobbling after Friday’s 7.34% drop, and traders are now watching whether MSTR can reclaim the $130 area and make another run at the recent highs. If the Bitcoin-buying machine is truly rebooted, the stock probably won’t get to be boring for long.
Big picture: Strategy didn’t just buy Bitcoin — it telegraphed that the summer reset is done and the crypto treasury playbook is back on.
