Saudi Arabia just got an AI power-up
Cisco and AMD teamed up with HUMAIN to turn on a new AI infrastructure buildout in Saudi Arabia, and this one is already operational. Think of it like the plumbing behind the AI hype machine: AMD is bringing the chips, Cisco is bringing the networking, and HUMAIN is packaging it all into GPU-as-a-service for customers across the Kingdom and beyond.
Why investors should care
This matters because it’s not just a shiny press release with a logo parade. The setup uses AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs, AMD EPYC CPUs, and Cisco Silicon One-based networking, which means both companies get to flex in a very expensive, very crowded AI infrastructure race.
- Cisco’s N9000 Series and 800G optics are part of the fabric holding the whole thing together.
- HUMAIN says the system supports training and inference workloads, so this is aimed at actual demand, not just vibes.
- The companies also say they’re planning up to 250 MW of AI infrastructure in the next phase.
The bigger play
The long game is even louder: the joint venture is supposed to scale to 1 GW by 2030, with deployment expected to start in 2027 and the first capacity coming online in the second half of that year. That’s the kind of number that makes Wall Street sit up a little straighter — because if customer demand really is there, this could become a meaningful growth lane rather than a conference-stage cameo.
Big picture: Cisco and AMD aren’t just selling parts anymore. They’re trying to become the backbone of someone else’s AI empire.
