Copilot just got a new brain snack
Euromonitor International is rolling out the Euromonitor Passport agent inside Microsoft 365 Copilot, its first agentic integration into a third-party AI platform. Translation: Copilot users can now ask natural-language questions and tap into Euromonitor’s market intelligence without hopping between tabs like a caffeinated analyst.
Why this matters
This is less about one shiny feature and more about Microsoft’s bigger Copilot pitch: don’t just use AI to draft emails — use it to actually get work done. If third-party data providers keep piling into Copilot, Microsoft gets more reasons for businesses to pay up and stay embedded in its ecosystem.
The nerdy part, minus the headache
The integration uses Model Context Protocol (MCP), which is basically the plumbing that lets AI apps talk to outside tools and data sources more smoothly. Euromonitor says the agent is powered by its proprietary Passport data, so the pitch is “trusted intelligence” instead of random internet soup.
Big picture
For investors, this is another breadcrumb in Microsoft’s AI strategy: make Copilot the default work interface, then keep widening the moat with partners. One more integration won’t move the stock alone, but a steady drumbeat of these deals is how platforms quietly become indispensable.
