SoFi goes full bridge-builder
SoFi Technologies is teaming up with Payward — the company behind Kraken’s financial plumbing — to knit together old-school banking and digital asset markets. In plain English: SoFi wants to be the place where your paycheck, payments, and crypto life all stop arguing and start sharing a spreadsheet.
Under the deal, Payward will tap SoFi’s Big Business Banking tools, join the SoFi Exchange Network (SEN), and list SoFiUSD on its multi-asset trading platform. That gives SoFi a shinier seat at the table in the digital asset world, while Payward gets access to SoFi’s banking rails.
Why investors should care
For SoFi, this is less about a headline-grabbing splash and more about widening the moat. Partnerships like this can:
- deepen customer engagement across banking and trading
- create new payment and liquidity pathways
- give SoFi more credibility in crypto without pretending it's a crypto-native casino
The bigger picture
This is the kind of move that says, “We’re not just a consumer app anymore.” SoFi keeps pushing to become a financial super-app, and the more its products can plug into outside platforms, the more useful it can become. Big picture: if SoFi can make finance feel less like filing taxes and more like using one tidy app, that’s the game.
